Leatherwood Weekend Report

Busy weekend! We had a sick toddler, teething baby, birthday parties, friends in town, lunches, meetings, and a whole lot of fun! Jackson is finally getting over his stomach bug which I’m so relieved! I was worried that he was getting dehydrated… You can only drink so much Pedialyte and Gatorade.

If you haven’t heard already, Friday was Junior League’s Charity Ball Preview Party at David Gardner’s and this year’s theme was announced– Black tie Tailgate. It’s going to be an awesome party and I hope all my Junior Leaguers and friends are going to come!

Saturday some of our best friends came to see us from Dallas! I’ve been friends with them since my sophomore year in college. She was my bridesmaid & I was hers. They are always at every important event in our lives baby shower, births, birthday parties etc. I couldn’t ask for better friends. I have made it my goal to get to Dallas before December! You hear that Alexis & Ju Ju? Ha.

Jax loved Justin aka Ju Ju. Literally he bawled when he walked out the door. So sad.

Sutton also had her first We Love MJC photo shoot with Whimsy & Style Photography. She wore this cute outfit… I’m excited to see how the photos come out!

The weekend was busy and fun. But I’m mostly happy because my poor little boy is FINALLY getting well!

The Bahamas

Warning: this will be a long post!!

20130821-135348.jpg
The busiest season of the year is almost over and to celebrate The Barracks & Aggieland Properties, our entire crew headed to the Bahamas. Can I get a WHOOP?

The Barracks is a development in College Station comprised of townhomes and single family homes catered to students with a wakeboard park and lots of other amenities. It’s pretty awesome. Aggieland Properties is Jeff’s property management company on site and he sold out the current phase of units!! Whoop!!!!

Any way, we had a party of 19 people there. That’s a lot of people to try and wrangle up at a huge resort like Atlantis. It definitely was like herding cattle but it was a FUN trip.

The Leatherwood clan left at 4am from College Station in order to get to the airport on time. The kiddos were definitely not as excited as we were.

20130821-125631.jpg
They were little angels on the plane. All Sutton wanted was to eat, sleep and be with Mom. Jackson wanted to climb back and forth between Daddy and Mom. It was tricky. But the new toy trick definitely worked and the iPad was a hit as always!

We made it to Atlantis mid-afternoon and started the party right away!!!

20130821-130135.jpg
If you haven’t been to Atlantis, there’s several different places to stay– The Reef, Royal Towers, The Cove etc. We stayed at The Cove this time. It’s all suites & geared towards adults. We had two awesome connecting rooms but I only got a picture of one before we “moved in”. Ha.

Day 1:
Our first full day was spent on Cove Beach. As always Jax loved loved loved every moment of his beach time. I only wish I had taken more pictures of him, but in an effort to keep Sutton in the shade I just forgot!

We went to Sea Fire in Harborside that night! Delish!!! As Kim says, “best dinner of my life!” With our bellies full, bottles of wine down, we gambled the night away (and every other night)! Kim is a budding gambler so she was really into it!

Day 2:
Yacht day!!! We chartered a 81ft yacht, Atlantis II, for the entire day! It was amazing! Amazing!!!!!! I literally could write an entire post on this day. We did so much. The yacht had paddleboarding, snorkels, pool floats, jet skis, jumping spots, chairs to lay out on, a hydraulic ramp that lowers into the water (awesome), canoes & so much more!!!

The entire crew was great and super nice. We had Piña Coladas on the reg, the chef made an awesome surf & turf meal, and awesome little snacks! They cruised us on over to our own little private island that was across from the island where Gilligan’s island was filmed. I think all 19 of us would recommend this trip to anyone!

Day 3:
We rented an awesome cabana on the beach/pool for Sutton to keep shaded! But I’m pretty sure the adults loved it more than her considering she just slept the entire day. Butler service, lounge beds, private chaises on the beach, poolside gambling= AMAZING!! Oh, and Jeff saw his favorite guy from Pawn Stars smoking cigars by the pool!

Only the best vacation nanny ever!20130821-140932.jpg

It was pretty much the best trip! Even though we took two kids under two on 4 planes, 2 islands, traveled with an extremely sick boy, got thrown up on, got pooped on, destroyed our hotel room, threw a vow renewal and pretty much spent all our money! Haha. But we are back to the reality of our every day lives. Taking care of a sick little boy at home is definitely easier than a hotel room or plane! So if you ever need advice for traveling with 2 under 2, I’m your girl!

Dominican Republic

Since we are going to the Bahamas on Thursday, I figured I should share our Dominican Republic pictures from February. I actually totally forgot about them until I went to charge our waterproof camera. Ooops. Ill blame it on pregnancy brain.

This would be Jackson’s THIRD overseas trip. And THIRD beach trip. I think the Leatherwood’s love some sun and sand.

This is the resort- Ocean Blue & Sand Punta Cana. It was pretty awesome. We stayed in the “Privilege Section” which we learned only let us hang out in the awesome beach section and have a suite closest to the beach. Ha. There were 5 different restaurants, bowling alley, games, bars, etc.

We liked the resort but probably would try somewhere else next time. The water was beautiful though and it was great have beach front souvenir shopping directly next door. We got all our souvenir shopping out of the way while walking through the water wearing our swimsuits.  We’ve definitely learned how to travel with babies. I have lots of advice on what to bring and not to bring so ASK ME if your heading somewhere. We’ve traveled with a small baby, and a big baby and pregnant woman… We are PROS!!

Jackson developed quite the routine while on vacation. Eat, play/swim, eat, sleep, play/swim, eat, sleep AND REPEAT!  We are pretty blessed that he loves the beach and water as much as we do!

I will say that when traveling with a 17 month old, you definitely need an umbrella stroller. And if your kid is anything like ours, he will think its a fun game. This stroller was a GIFT. When Jax was bored, he would push his stroller around, When he was cranky, we took him for a “ride”. Beep Beep. In our room, he would climb in and out, in and out.  So bring it!

Well, I’m off for a day of pampering with my mom, aka Grammy, so we can celebrate her birthday!

Leatherwood Weekend Report

I’m burnt. My skin is red and tingly. How is this even possible? We’ve been to the pool a zillion times this summer and the beach 3 times. And yet… My skin is burnt. And hot.

Besides my red, blotchy skin I wanted to say HAPPY BIRTHDAY ETHAN TYLER! You’re one year old already and such a sweet, curious little boy. Your Mommy and I have been friends since the 8th grade and now we both have babies. From being babies to having babies. Insane. I hope you and Jax grow up to be great friends who eat delicious turkey sandwiches together :).

Jackson had a blast at the party. Trying to open E’s gifts, steal his toys and ride his tricycles.

Miss Sutton barely let anyone hold her this week, but Grammy squeezed in a few minutes of cuddle time.

We are heading to the Bahamas on Thursday so this week should be busy, but here are a few shots from our week/weekend.

My sweet angel baby turned 3 months old this weekend. I cannot believe it. Cannot. Believe. It. Slow down time. She’s getting too big, too fast. Jeff and I really have noticed that it feels like baby #2 grows so much faster than número UNO.

Just look…

I honestly have been begging Jeff to have another baby the last few days. I cannot get over the fact that Jackson and Sutton are growing up. Ha. But we will see what the future holds for this fam.

Saturday while Jeff was working Jackson and I went for a dip. I tried to get tan for the Bahamas while he attempted to spray me. He thinks it’s hilarious to soak Mommy!

After Daddy got home we went out to our newest soon-to-be investment, Flying Ace Ranch. I honestly wasn’t happy when Jeff said we were buying this place but after spending Saturday evening exploring it, I’m super excited. This place is pretty awesome. Jax was a little uneasy with the horses but he will adjust as he does with everything!

Check out our Ranch Adventures:

Today we took Jax bowling for the first time. It was fun for him for like 5 minutes. Basically it was fun until he realized that not every turn is his turn. Ha. But he looked really cute in his neon bowling shoes. He bowled, played a few arcade games, ate a hot dog, and then napped for a longggg, quiet time. 🙂

Tuesday Tales

Jackson, Sutton and I did a lot of playing today. But first we ran a few errands, like getting this Mom’s car inspected (if you live in the B/CS, go to Inspections Plus) and going to get Ethan’s birthday presents. So while we were getting presents, Jax needed a little gift too!! So we got an electric train for his tracks. Like I said before, Jax is obsessed with his train table. So we sat around his table all day long!

Just a few pics from our day…

Leatherwood Weekend Report

Every weekend it seems like we always try to cram our weekend full of stuff to do since its normally the only time we see Daddy. This weekend Jeff worked all day Saturday but we were busy bees on Sunday!

Jackson is obsessed with trains. I mean OBSESSED with trains. His awesome cousin, Preston, gave Jax his train table and he literally could play with it ALL day long. In fact, Saturday when dinner was ready we had to pull him away from it but instead of being a good little kid, he threw the biggest tantrum. He will probably starve himself in order to play with it. Haha. But he did finally pass out Saturday evening!

Jeff’s mom, Millie/Mimm cooks Sunday lunch every weekend and everyone gets together. Jax usually is the most excited he has been all week because he gets to see his cousins and play with all the toys at Mimm’s house. As we were driving up to her house Jackson started loudly saying “Mimm! Mimm! Mimm!”. This is definitely a verbal breakthrough for him! He has been stuck on his favorite words… Ball. Dog. Door. Cup. Daddy. Etc. So I was super excited to see that he knew exactly where we were!

Later in the afternoon Jax started calling me “Mom”… No more Mommy or Momma. Another breakthrough. Baby to boy!

Our sweet friends Jan, Paulette & Sofia invited us to their new house for dinner Sunday evening. Their house is awesome y’all! The playroom is huge!!!! I idolize a huge playroom. One place for the mass of toys= heaven!

Anyways Jax had lots of fun exploring their house and playing with Sophia. Dinner was great and friends even better!
